Description
Pololu 5294 is a compact carrier board featuring a current sensor based on the ACS37220LEZATR-200B5 IC, intended for measuring both AC and DC currents in the ±200 A range at a nominal 5 V supply voltage. The sensor uses the Hall effect to measure current flowing through an isolated, very low-resistance current path. The measurement signal is provided via an analog output whose voltage changes proportionally to the measured current.
Using the sensor
The module offers a wide measurement bandwidth of up to approximately 150 kHz and a fast signal response, making it suitable for monitoring high currents in systems with galvanic isolation. The device also provides a configurable fault output that can indicate overcurrent conditions, which can be used in protection or alarm systems.
