ACS37220 +/-150A 5V Current Sensor Pololu 5298

Description

Large Carrier version current sensor from Pololu, model 5298, based on the ACS37220LEZATR-150B5, designed for measuring AC and DC currents in the range from -150 A to +150 A at a nominal supply voltage of 5 V. Measurement is performed using the Hall effect in an isolated current path with very low resistance of approximately 0.1 mΩ, which minimizes power losses and reduces the impact of the sensor on the measured circuit.

The output signal is provided as an analog voltage proportional to the current, with a zero-current output level of approximately 2.5 V. The module offers a bandwidth of up to 150 kHz and a response time below 4 µs, enabling monitoring of fast-changing currents in power electronics and switching applications.

The sensor includes a configurable FAULT output (via the VOC pin), allowing fast detection of overcurrent conditions and short circuits. The 6-layer PCB improves thermal performance and ensures stable operation at high currents. Additionally, integrated temperature compensation enhances accuracy over a wide operating temperature range.
