Laser distance sensor with a measuring range from 5 cm to 15 m. It uses a wavelength of 830 nm and the Time of Flight (ToF) technology, which means that the sensor periodically transmits a beam of infrared rays that reflect from the object. It then measures the time of flight from the phase difference and obtains the range between the device and the detected object.
The sensor offers a supply voltage range from 3.7 to 5.2 V and communication interfaces UART, I2C and IO. It can work with a very high resolution of 1 mm and an accuracy of ± 2 cm and the frequency of measurements up to 50 Hz. In addition, it has a very narrow measuring angle FoV 2 °, which allows for precise point measurements.
The module is resistant to strong light, making it suitable for outdoor use. It will be used in robotics as a measurement sensor in drones and mobile robots, but also in industry, e.g. as a sensor on a production line. Full documentation is available on the product page.
