A precise barometric pressure and temperature sensor, ideal for altimetry and environmental applications. It can detect changes in height as small as 1.5 cm and offers high relative accuracy of ±6 Pa. It supports I2C and SPI interfaces for flexible integration with microcontrollers. The pre-assembled module with STEMMA QT connectors facilitates quick connection in drones, wearable devices, and IoT projects. Adafruit 6411
Adafruit BMP580 is a modern barometric pressure and temperature sensor, designed as the successor to the popular Bosch BMP2xx and BMP3xx series. This module works excellently as a high-precision altimeter and environmental sensor in electronic projects. Thanks to its low noise level, it can detect altitude changes of approximately 1.5 cm, making it highly useful in mobile applications. The sensor supports both I2C and SPI interfaces, offering great design flexibility. I2C is ideal for simple connections, while SPI allows multiple sensors to operate without address conflicts.
The BMP580 provides high relative accuracy of ±6 Pa, corresponding to approximately ±50 cm of altitude difference. Typical absolute accuracy is around ±30 Pa (about 2.5 m). The device is software-compatible with the BMP581 model, though it offers slightly lower precision, which results in a more attractive price. The sensor is mounted on a ready-to-use board in the STEMMA QT format, enabling quick connection to microcontrollers. STEMMA QT connectors are fully compatible with the SparkFun Qwiic system, allowing easy daisy-chaining of modules. The BMP580 is ideal for drones, wearables, IoT projects, and anywhere reliable altitude and temperature measurement is required at a reasonable cost.
