MAX31865-based module designed for use with PT1000 RTD temperature sensors in 2-, 3- or 4-wire configurations. SPI communication enables connection to microcontrollers, while the 3.3 V regulator and logic level shifting provide compatibility with 5 V systems. PT1000 sensor is not included. Adafruit 3648
The MAX31865-based module - Adafruit PT1000 RTD Temperature Sensor Amplifier enables PT1000 RTD temperature sensors to be connected to a microcontroller. The MAX31865 provides precise resistance measurement for RTD sensors. The module supports PT1000 sensors in 2-, 3- and 4-wire configurations, allowing its use in temperature measurement systems where reducing the influence of connection wire resistance is important.
Communication with the microcontroller is provided through the SPI interface. The internal ADC of the MAX31865 measures the ratio between the RTD resistance and the reference resistance. The board features a precise 4300 Ω reference resistor with 0.1% tolerance, selected for use with PT1000 sensors.
Product application

The built-in 3.3 V voltage regulator and logic level shifting provide compatibility with systems operating at both 3.3 V and 5 V logic levels. The module can be used with Arduino and other development boards and microcontrollers equipped with an SPI interface. The manufacturer provides a library and example code for calculating temperature based on the measured resistance.
The board measures 28 x 25 x 2.4 mm and weighs approximately 2.6 g. In the current revision, the screw terminal blocks are supplied pre-soldered to the board. The PT1000 RTD sensor is not included and must be purchased separately.
The PT1000 sensor is not included
