The Waveshare RP2350-LCD-0.85 development board combines the Raspberry Pi RP2350 microcontroller with a color IPS display, Flash memory, IMU sensor, audio circuitry, TF card slot and programmable RGB LEDs. The integrated design is suitable for compact user interfaces, portable devices, data loggers, controllers, measurement systems and projects combining graphics, sound and motion sensing.
The RP2350 features a dual-core, dual-architecture design that allows operation with a pair of Arm Cortex-M33 cores or a pair of Hazard3 RISC-V cores. The maximum clock frequency is 150MHz. The microcontroller provides 520KB of SRAM, while the board includes 16MB of NOR Flash. Additional functions include 12 programmable PIO state machines, USB 1.1 device and host support, low-power modes and an integrated temperature sensor.
The integrated 0.85" IPS LCD provides a resolution of 128 × 128px and supports 65K colors. The display uses an ST7735 controller and a 4-wire SPI interface. Its active display area measures 15.21 × 15.21mm. The screen can be used for operating parameters, menus, icons, simple charts and sensor data.
The board integrates a QMI8658 6-axis IMU containing a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope. The audio section includes an ES8311 codec, an NS4150B power amplifier, an onboard microphone and an MX1.25 speaker connector. Additional hardware includes 8 programmable RGB LEDs, a TF card slot and PWR, BOOT and volume control buttons.
The USB Type-C connector is used for programming and USB communication. Available interfaces include 1 × I2C, 1 × UART, 2 × 12-bit ADC and 2 controllable PWM channels. The MX1.25 battery connector supports an optional 3.7V lithium battery, while the onboard battery management circuit supports charging current up to 500mA. Software support includes C/C++, MicroPython and Arduino IDE.
