Description

The 5-inch Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2 is an LCD screen with a capacitive touchscreen, designed for use with Raspberry Pi boards from the 1B+ model upwards (excluding the Zero and 400/500 series, which do not have a DSI connector). The display operates in portrait orientation and can be rotated 90°, 180°, or 270°, allowing for flexible adaptation to projects requiring both portrait and landscape modes. A 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and 24-bit color gamut ensure clear readability and high image quality. Support for five simultaneous touch points enables full multitouch interaction with the system, including scrolling, swiping, long pressing, and using the on-screen keyboard.

The screen is powered directly from the Raspberry Pi via the GPIO connector, eliminating the need for a separate power supply. Touch and image communication is handled via the DSI interface using FFC cables tailored to the specific board model (15-pin to 15-pin for most models and 22-pin to 15-pin for the Raspberry Pi 5). The included mounting hardware allows for direct mounting of the Raspberry Pi to the back of the display, allowing for the creation of a compact setup in the form of a tablet, control panel, multimedia center, or interactive information board.

Touch and display settings are configured via the Raspberry Pi OS system files. It is possible to invert the touch axis, swap the X and Y axes, change the logical resolution, and disable the touchpad. The display is supported directly by Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm and later, without the need to install additional drivers.
