Description
The 3.5" Waveshare e-paper display uses E-Ink technology that enables image display without backlighting, providing a paper-like viewing effect. The display supports four colors: red, yellow, black and white and offers a wide viewing angle exceeding 170°. The displayed image remains visible even after power is removed, while energy consumption occurs mainly during screen refresh.
This version of the product includes only the display panel without a driver board. Proper operation requires an external e-paper controller supporting the SPI interface. The display can be used in embedded systems and IoT projects with microcontrollers or single-board computers such as Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, Arduino, STM32 or ESP32 when used with an appropriate driver.

E-paper technology uses microcapsules containing electrically charged pigment particles suspended in fluid. When an electric field is applied, the particles move within the microcapsules, changing the visible color on the display surface. This solution provides extremely low power consumption and excellent readability in ambient light, making the display suitable for applications such as electronic price tags, warehouse labels, information boards and IoT devices.
