Atmospheric pressure sensor, capable of measuring up to 4060 hPa, which allows it to be used even in underwater projects to a depth of about 40 meters. Thanks to high precision (±0.5 hPa) and a sampling rate of up to 200 Hz, it is also ideal for dynamic measurements of altitude and pressure in atmospheric conditions. The built-in metal port allows remote pressure measurement through a tube, and compatibility with the STEMMA QT system and ready-made libraries for Arduino and CircuitPython make integration with microcontrollers quick and easy. Adafruit 6067
The Adafruit LPS28 (LPS28DFW) is a barometric pressure sensor that stands out due to its ability to measure much higher pressure levels than most typical sensors. While standard sensors typically max out around 1260 hPa, the LPS28 can measure up to 4060 hPa—equivalent to about 40 meters underwater. This makes it a perfect fit for scientific applications, deep-sea research, and underwater robotics projects.
Of course, the LPS28 is also excellent for standard atmospheric height measurements. With 24-bit precision and pressure sensitivity down to ±0.5 hPa, it provides height resolution better than 1 cm. The sensor supports data rates up to 200 samples per second, making it suitable for dynamic and real-time measurements. It features a metal port for connecting a thin tube, enabling remote pressure measurements. Additionally, the sensor is protected with a gel layer rated up to 10,000 hPa and resistant to certain aggressive chemicals.
For ease of use, the sensor is mounted on a breakout board with supporting components, making it compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic. Thanks to the I2C interface and STEMMA QT connectors (Qwiic-compatible), it can be quickly connected to Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Feather, or other microcontroller platforms—no soldering required. Libraries are available for Arduino and CircuitPython, simplifying integration into your projects.
