NEMA17 stepper motor with a 40 mm body, integrated closed-loop driver, 14-bit magnetic encoder and CAN communication. The driver operates at a voltage from 12 V to 24 V, supports a current of up to 3000 mA, microstepping from 1 to 256 and pulse signals with a frequency of up to 160 kHz. Makerbase MKS SERVO42D CAN MT
NEMA17 stepper motor with a closed-loop driver - Makerbase MKS SERVO42D CAN MT combines a motor with a 40 mm body and a driver based on the N32L403 microcontroller with a Cortex-M4 core and a 14-bit magnetic encoder. The system supports open-loop and closed-loop control as well as FOC mode, along with speed, relative position and absolute position control. The microstepping range is from 1 to 256, with a default setting of 16, while the maximum input pulse frequency reaches 160 kHz.

CAN communication uses the TJA1051T transceiver and supports transmission rates of 125K, 250K and 500K. The driver provides one broadcast address and up to 2047 slave addresses, allowing systems with multiple drives operating on a common bus to be built. Synchronous multi-motor operating modes, acceleration and deceleration curves, and limit switch support for returning to the zero position are also available. Torque, velocity and position parameters are updated at a frequency of 20 kHz.

The system operates at a voltage from 12 V to 24 V and an operating current from 0 to 3000 mA. The power stage uses AP4008QD MOSFETs rated at 40 V / 20 A. The combination of a NEMA17 motor, encoder and driver allows the drive to be used in 3D printers, CNC machines and other mechanisms requiring closed-loop position control and CAN communication.
