X-NUCLEO-SNK1M1 is an expansion board that enables the implementation of TCPP01-M12 functions and USB Type C surge protection for VBUS and CC lines suitable for sink applications. The expansion board is designed to work with any STM32 Nucleo-64 development board that uses the features of USB Type-C and Power Delivery (UCPD) peripherals built into the microcontroller.
Shield can also be placed on other STM32 Nucleo development boards that do not support UCPD peripheral to demonstrate basic USB Type-C operations (connect, disconnect, and recognize supply current).
The X-NUCLEO-SNK1M1 allows you to demonstrate low-battery operation thanks to the integrated ST715PU33R LDO linear stabilizer that powers the connected STM32 Nucleo development board when the source is connected via a USB Type-C connector
The X-NUCLEO-SNK1M1 complies with the latest USB Type-C and Power Delivery specifications, and is USB-IF certified as a 100W solution supporting Programmable Power Delivery (PPS).
The dedicated software package (X-CUBE-TCPP) contains application examples for development boards with embedded UCPD-based microcontrollers (NUCLEO-G071RB, NUCLEO-G474RE and NUCLEO-G0B1RE) and for non-UCPD boards (NUCLEO-L412RB-P).
