Single-channel Makerbase ODrive-S V3.6 controller for three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motors, using Field-Oriented Control (FOC). Supports a 12 V to 56 V DC power supply, position, speed and torque control, and communication via USB, UART and CAN interfaces. Designed to control a single drive in robotic systems, positioning mechanisms and CNC machines. Makerbase MKS ODrive-S V3.6
Makerbase MKS ODrive-S V3.6 controls a single three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor using the FOC (Field-Oriented Control) algorithm. The controller enables position, speed and torque regulation and supports rotor position sensor feedback. Its design is based on the ODrive platform, with a 12 V to 56 V DC supply voltage range. The manufacturer specifies an operating current of 60 A and a peak current of 120 A.

Developing robotic drives enables control of a single BLDC motor using closed-loop feedback. Designing positioning mechanisms allows shaft position to be regulated in motion control applications. Building CNC machine drives enables motion commands to be issued through STEP/DIR signals. Torque and speed control can also be used in automation mechanisms and robotic vehicle drives.
The USB port provides communication with a computer and allows operating parameters to be configured. UART and CAN interfaces enable data exchange with higher-level control systems, while signal connectors allow an encoder and motion control signals to be connected. The board features terminals for connecting the power supply and the motor's three phases. The controller supports braking through a braking resistor or regenerative energy recovery to a battery in a suitably configured power supply system.
