Description

The WIZnet WIZ-IP55 is designed to add Ethernet connectivity to embedded systems without requiring TCP/IP stack implementation in the host microcontroller. Based on the W5500 chip with an integrated Ethernet MAC, PHY, and hardware network protocol processing, the module is suitable for industrial automation, IoT applications, embedded controllers, and other devices requiring reliable wired network communication.

Communication with the host microcontroller is handled through an SPI interface operating at up to 80 MHz. The module supports 8 simultaneous network sockets, includes a 32 KB TX/RX buffer memory, and supports TCP, UDP, IPv4, ICMP, IGMPv1/v2, ARP, PPPoE, and Wake-on-LAN (WOL). The integrated RJ45 connector with a built-in Ethernet transformer simplifies hardware design, while the official WIZnet ioLibrary provides drivers, example projects, and an API for easy integration with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
