Description

emPower is an advanced evaluation board that enables a quick start for embedded projects thanks to the integrated SEGGER software suite. At the heart of the system is the embOS real-time operating system, providing stability and performance. The package also includes demo versions of libraries such as emFile (file system), emWin (graphics), emUSB (USB Host and Device), and the emNet TCP/IP stack with a built-in web server.

By utilizing the Freescale Kinetis K66 microcontroller with an ARM Cortex-M4F core, emPower delivers high performance and a rich set of features, including a built-in Ethernet controller, 1 Gbit NAND Flash memory, USB Host and Device interface, and microSD card support. Additionally, users have access to an LCD display, joystick, buttons, and a potentiometer for analog input control.

The board features an integrated J-Link OB debugger with drag & drop programming, significantly simplifying application programming and debugging. Furthermore, emPower provides three expansion interfaces supporting I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO/timer, and analog inputs, as well as a dedicated connector for TFT displays. The entire system is powered exclusively via USB, with power consumption depending on the application and connected devices, with a minimum consumption of approximately 85 mA.
