TerasIC CLR-HSMC (P0079) enables the integration of industrial cameras with a Camera Link interface into FPGA boards via the HSMC connector, supporting image transmission in base, medium, and dual base modes. The module is used in vision systems, production lines, and projects involving real-time image processing.
The CLR-HSMC expansion module enables direct connection of industrial cameras with a Camera Link interface to FPGA development boards equipped with an HSMC connector, such as the DE4, DE3, or DE2-115. It supports standard Camera Link modes — base, medium, and dual base assembly — providing serial communication and automatic hardware/software device detection.
The module is built around two DS90CR288A chips, supporting 28-bit LVDS channel link transmission with a shift clock range of 20–85 MHz. The maximum transmission bandwidth is 2.38 Gb/s, equivalent to 297.5 MB/s. Supported I/O voltage levels of 2.5 V and 3.3 V allow integration with a wide variety of systems.
The CLR-HSMC works with DE4 and DE3 boards via HMF2 and HFF adapters (included respectively with DE4 and DE3 kits). With its straightforward interface and reference designs available for TerasIC platforms, the module is ideal for vision systems and industrial applications requiring high-quality image transmission.
