Benewake TF-LC02 is a laser distance sensor with a measurement range from 0.3 m to 2 m. It uses a wavelength of 940 nm and Time of Flight (ToF) technology, which consists in the sensor periodically transmitting a beam of infrared rays that reflect away from the object. It then measures the time-of-flight based on the phase difference and obtains the range between the device and the detected object.
The sensor is powered by 3.3 V and uses the UART communication interface in the TTL standard. The sensor can operate with high resolution and an accuracy of up to ± 2 cm. Moreover, it is characterized by a wide FoV measuring angle of 18°. TF-LC02 is used in robotics as a measurement sensor in drones and mobile robots.
